How to Run a March Madness 1Huddle Contest

Dana Bernardino

March Madness is back! 🏀

And what better way to celebrate than running a March Madness contest on 1Huddle? 🏆

Want to find out how you can make it happen? Here are three big ideas that can really spice things up for your team this month.

#1: Fresh New Look

Routine can be boring — especially this year. So excite and engage your team by changing things up.

Everything from the button colors, to the logos, and even the music that plays when you log in or win a game can be completely re-branded in seconds.

Have the crowd go wild whenever someone gets a question correct, or make the buzzer sound whenever a question is missed… However you decide to change things up, your people will appreciate a fresh new look!

#2: Dream Teams

Many of you are familiar with the leaderboards on 1Huddle, but did you know about the “Group” leaderboard?

The group leaderboard can be added as an exciting feature for any organization, and it allows you to split everyone into teams. So what’s the benefit of splitting into teams? Well, it leads to increased competition and camaraderie since no one wants to let their team down. Plus, this gives your people the chance to compete and collaborate together in a fun, low-stakes environment that makes real-world collaboration at work that much easier.

For those who really want to get into the March Madness action, we can even form an elimination-style bracket — if you think you can handle it, that is.

#3: Moneyball

Tired of rewarding your team with the same stuff every month?

With a March Madness theme, you can throw some basketball-themed rewards into the mix that your people will love. Have everyone on the winning team sign a basketball, then give it to the MVP of the winning team. Or maybe order some custom jerseys for the winning team… Or even a real trophy. The possibilities are endless. With a little creativity and some innovative new prizes, you can give your team something they will look back on one day and say, “that March Madness contest was awesome!”

Hopefully, these ideas have sparked some interest in running a March Madness contest for your team. If you have other ideas to share, or if you’re ready to launch your team’s March Madness contest today, then email me at dana@1huddle.co

And as always… Game on!
